Reading about the regions tourism hotspots, we might be excused for thinking that the Cape is paradise on earth. But a casual glance through the daily news reveals a different picture, one of environmental and social degradation.

The reality is that Cape Town is rapidly disappearing into its own waste, aggravated by poverty and other social ills. If we agree that the problem of grime is a major factor behind crime and poverty, then we need, as people of the Cape, to address this matter quickly. Of course, the problem affects other major economic initiatives such as tourism, property ownership and the marketing of the Cape as an international destination.

Do you care enough about the problem to try and make a difference? The Fairest Cape Association calls on society to take action and solve a problem that is threatening to undermine the Cape’s orderly sustainable development and to destroy its rich biodiversity. The FCA works with business, with educational institutions, government & society at large to create public awareness about the problem of waste and the benefits of integrated waste management. Our cornerstones are Avoidance, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.
